Lead Remediation Grant – Available to Public and Nonpublic Schools
The New Hampshire Drinking Water and Groundwater Trust Fund (DWGTF) awarded a total of $1,000,000 for remediation of lead in drinking water in K-12 schools for any outlets testing at 5 ppb or above. While available, this funding can be used to reimburse public and nonpublic schools in the state for up to 100% of the total remediation costs as needed. Past remediation activities include installing filtered drinking fountains or replacing fixtures with certified lead-free fixtures. Funding is first come first served while funds are available. Each eligible school or SAU will receive an email with specific instructions and a unique "Lead Remediation Removal Plan Data" spreadsheet needed to complete the application. Lead in Drinking Water Remediation Grant Funding – Available to Licensed Child Care Facilities
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is dispersing $400,000 from the New Hampshire Drinking Water and Groundwater Trust Fund to help licensed child care facilities remove lead in drinking water at faucets testing at five parts per billion or above. Funding can be used to reimburse any licensed child care facility in the state for up to 100% of their total remediation costs including labor. Actions to remove lead from water include replacing faucet fixtures with certified lead-free fixtures, replacing pipes leading to fixtures and installing water filtration systems. Any costs incurred since May 17, 2016, for lead reduction/removal from drinking water are eligible for reimbursement. Costs previously submitted for reimbursement are not eligible. Free Water Testing – Available to Public Schools and Licensed Child Care Programs
The State of New Hampshire has received funding from the EPA’s Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) 2107 Grant. This funding will be used to cover costs for lead in drinking water sample analysis. WIIN funding can only be used for public schools and licensed child care programs.
