Southern NH Regional Water Interconnection Project milestone to be celebrated on August 30

Concord, NH – The media are invited to join the Drinking Water and Groundwater Advisory Commission of the Drinking Water and Groundwater Trust Fund (Advisory Commission) and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) on Tuesday, August 30, to celebrate the completion of water mains throughout the monumental Southern NH Regional Water Interconnection Project and initialization of water service connections in Plaistow. This event will be held at 10 AM in Plaistow, NH at 144 Main Street (Methuen Construction). 

The celebration will bring together the many project partners, including:

  • Governor Chris Sununu and Advisory Commission Chair, State Senator Chuck Morse, both of whom were instrumental in shepherding this first-of-its-kind project in New Hampshire.
  • NHDES.
  • NH Department of Justice.
  • Manchester Water Works, the water source.
  • The Town of Derry as a water provider.
  • The water recipients consisting of the Towns of Windham, Salem and Plaistow; and Hampstead Area Water Company, serving the Towns of Atkinson and Hampstead.
  • Pennichuck East Utility.
  • Elected officials from project partner communities.
  • Project consultants and contractors.
