Souhegan Supplemental Watershed Plan

view of the souhegan site 26Project Narrative

NHDES is preparing a Supplemental Watershed Plan and Environmental Assessment (Plan-EA) to consider improvements to the following flood control dams within the Souhegan River Watershed: Site 26 Dam, Site 25B Dam, Site 12A North Dam, and Site 12A South Dam.

The engineering consulting firm Gannett Fleming, Inc., has been retained to prepare the Supplemental Watershed Plan.

Improvements to the structures are being pursued by NHDES through a federal cost-share program with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to address current dam design safety and engineering criteria and performance standards. As the project involves federal funding and approvals, the Plan-EA is being developed in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), corresponding Council on Environmental Quality regulations, and NRCS guidelines.

Interested parties cant find information about the Souhegan Supplemental Watershed Plan and the status of the project on this webpage.
