Pesticides

Date: October 26, 2023

Certain pesticides are considered universal waste. This includes recalled, suspended and cancelled pesticides regulated under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).

Check with your local transfer station to see if they accept universal waste. If not, ask about your disposal options. Your local household hazardous waste (HHW) collection event or permanent facility may accept pesticides.

Universal wastes are a subcategory of recycled, hazardous wastes. Read our universal waste blog to learn more!
