New resource for households – 'Managing My Waste' webpage

The NHDES Solid Waste Management Bureau (SWMB) is excited to share the NEW “Managing My Waste” webpage. This is a site dedicated to helping the public know how to manage the wastes they create. The A-Z list and corresponding blogs provide information for managing aerosol cans, different types of batteries, fireworks/flares, fluorescent lightbulbs, medicine, propane tanks, smoke detectors, tires and more! NHDES strongly encourages towns, solid waste facilities and other interested stakeholders to add the link to their websites and social media pages. The QR code can also be printed and shared publicly. 

Releasing this new site advances several actions in New Hampshire’s 2022 Solid Waste Management Plan. The Managing My Waste page emphasizes current waste disposal bans, connects waste management with public health and provides information about reuse/donation of excess food, clothing, furniture, mattresses and paint. The SWMB will continue to add recycling and disposal information for more waste items as the webpage evolves.
