This course will assist drinking water personnel in recognizing and understanding the components of public health and the important role water systems play in protecting public health. There are several instructional units that follow a building-block approach. In general, you’ll learn reasons for protecting public health through safe drinking water, including how regulations are created; routes of entry for contaminants (microbial, chemical and radiological) in drinking water; and how to identify the onset of waterborne contamination incidents.
