Stage 2 Water Use Alert for Lamprey River Water Users

Mean daily streamflow on the designated Lamprey River measured at the USGS gage 01073500 near Newmarket, NH has been below 16 cubic feet per second (cfs) since July 24, 2022, a period of 5 days. In accordance with the Lamprey River Water Use Plan, NHDES’ Instream Flow Program issues the following water use Stage 2 Alert: UDWS will implement outside water use restrictions as described in Stage 2 of their Emergency Response Plan. These restrictions include, but are not limited to, a ban on vehicle washing and swimming pool filling, and limited watering of lawns and gardens. These restrictions will be rescinded when daily mean discharge exceeds 16 cfs for five consecutive days. Please review your Water Use Plan for further details specific to your facility.
