Water Use Registration and Reporting Program
Water Use Registration

To collect water use data to support comprehensive management of the state’s water resources to ensure both adequate water quantity and quality to meet the needs of a growing population and economy, including understanding current stresses to our water resources and helping to evaluate future water needs.

Any person or facility whose total volume of incoming water or the total volume of outgoing water exceeds an average of 20,000 gallons of water per day in any seven-day period, or exceeds a total volume of 600,000 gallons in any 30-day period.

Submittal of a water use registration that includes specific information about the facility, type(s) of water-using processes, and descriptive details about sources and destinations of water resources.

Processing Time
Complete registrations are typically processed upon receipt within the same business day.

There is no expiration date or renewal process for Water Use Registration. However, following registration, water use is required to be measured and reported to the Water Use Registration and Reporting Program at a frequency stipulated in Env-Wq 2102, depending on the type of water use.

The Water Use Registration and Reporting Program must be notified of any changes relative to the registration such as the addition or elimination of water sources and destinations.

The Water Use Registration and Reporting Program must be informed in writing of ownership transfers.

Any person aggrieved by a final decision can appeal to the Water Council  in accordance with RSA 21 0:7.
