Solid Waste Permitting and Design Review Section
Solid Waste Research and Development Projects Permit

Purpose
To provide regulatory controls to assure proper construction, operation, and closure of solid waste facilities in order to protect the environment, public health and safety.

Applicability
Applies to research and development projects, as defined in Env-Sw 104 (see Env-Sw 100 Purpose, Applicability, and Definitions). No permit is required for research and development facilities identified in Env-Sw 302.03(b)(7), (see Env-Sw 300 Permits).

Application
The applicant must provide information in writing to the Solid Waste Permitting and Design Review Section according to Env-Sw 312 (see Env-Sw 300 Permits).

Varies. See Env-Sw 310.05 (see Env-Sw 300 Permits).

Processing Time
Varies

Term/Renewal
Permit typically issued for duration of project.

Modification/Amendments
Requires application for permit modification.

Transferability
Requires NHDES approval.

Appeals
Any person aggrieved by a final decision can appeal to the Waste Management Council in accordance with RSA 21-O:9.
