Brownfields RLF Cleanup Grants

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Brownfields Program is making $400,000 available for two or more Cleanup Grants and is soliciting applications from interested eligible entities. Brownfields sites are defined under the federal brownfields law, known as the Brownfields Revitalization Act of 2002, as "real property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant." Our program strives to help communities overcome some of the barriers to successful brownfields redevelopment. One of these barriers is the uncertainty regarding the availability of funding to address contamination. The Cleanup Grants will provide funding to conduct cleanup activities on underutilized and abandoned properties in an effort to position them for redevelopment and put them back into productive use. Individual Grants will be limited to no more than $200,000 per site. The deadline for submitting applications is August 31, 2020. Applications and additional information is available on the forms below:
