The State of New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES), by and through its attorney, the Office of the Attorney General (the “State”) hereby provides notice of an executed Consent Decree (CD) between NHDES and Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products, LP and Fort James, LLC. The CD settles NHDES’ claim, pursuant to RSA 147-A, RSA 147-B, and CERCLA, for the reimbursement of past response costs associated with work performed at the Chlor-Alkali Facility (Former) Superfund Site in the City of Berlin, Coos County, New Hampshire. NHDES provides further notice of a 30-day public comment period to end on August 1, 2022, during and after which time NHDES will consider any public comments regarding the CD.

The executed CD may be reviewed online or by reviewing a hard copy of the executed CD in person at NHDES.
