This multifaceted workshop on March 30 and 31 includes presentations, practical sessions, collaboration, and an outdoor site assessment.

  • This two-day workshop is designed for landscape professionals, watershed organization members, and community leaders responsible for managing land and water resources.
  • Participants will learn principles and best practices for creating and maintaining attractive, functional landscapes while protecting water quality in local lakes and rivers.
  • The workshop was developed by New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, New Hampshire Sea Grant, University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension, and in partnership with Outdoor Rooms Ecological Landscape Design Services and hosted by the town of Swanzey.
  • Pesticide credits will be available pending state approval. New Hampshire Certified Landscape Professionals certificates of completion also available.

Who should attend?

This program is designed for landscapers and others who develop, maintain, or preserve properties in and around southwestern NH, including – 

  • Landscape designers, contractors, maintenance professionals, and those who hire them 
  • Members of watershed groups, conservation commissions, organizations and agencies who want to learn about ecological approaches to landscaping 
  • Municipal staff and contractors involved in landscaping, land care and development 
  • Students in environment or landscape focused programs
