Permit Application For A Solid Waste Collection, Storage, And Transfer Facility: Greater Waste Solutions – 426 Fitchburg Road, Greenville, NH

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) is seeking public comments on a Standard Permit Application for a Collection, Storage, and Transfer (C/S/T) Facility from Greater Waste Solutions, LLC with a mailing address of 124 Old Wilton Road, Greenville, NH, 03048. A public hearing is scheduled for 6:30 pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, for receipt of oral testimony. The public comment period is open and continues until 4:00 PM on Friday, December 16, 2022, for receipt of written comments to be included in the public hearing record.

Application Summary: Greater Waste Solutions, LLC. submitted to NHDES an application to expand the current scrap metal and recycling center known as Greater Waste Solutions, LLC located at 426 Fitchburg Road, Greenville, NH. The existing facility is currently operating under Permit No. DES-SW-PN-17-002 issued by NHDES in 2017. The applicant is proposing to expand its operations to allow for acceptance of municipal solid waste (MSW), construction and demolition debris, and other solid wastes by relocating the existing scrap metal operations; and constructing an approximately 18,000 square foot building for commercial waste; and a collection area for residential waste.

The application is available for public review during business hours at the Greenville Town Hall, 46 Main Street, Greenville, NH; and at the NHDES’ office, 29 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH. The application is also available electronically on the NHDES’ OneStop website.

Public Hearing: A hearing to receive testimony on the application will be held in-person at the SAU 87 Office, 16 School Street, Greenville NH 03048 on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 6:30 PM.

Remote access is also available by registering online. After registering, you will receive confirmation by email with information on how to join the hearing through the internet. Advance registration is not required but is encouraged.

Written Comments: Instead of or in addition to providing oral testimony at the public hearing, written testimony may be submitted to NHDES at any time before close of the public comment period on December 16, 2022, at 4:00 PM.
