Removal of the Buck Street Dams on the Suncook River, Meeting July 28

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (DES) will conduct a public meeting to provide information on the removal of the state owned Buck Street Dams located in Allenstown and Pembroke on the Suncook River. Removal of the dams is scheduled for September 2011. The public meeting will be held in the Pembroke Academy auditorium in Pembroke on Thursday, July 28 from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

The meeting agenda will include presentations by DES and United States Geological Survey (USGS). DES will discuss the dam removal project as well as other work that is ongoing on the Suncook River to address the avulsion impacts. USGS will present their sediment transport study of the Suncook River. The presentation will be followed by, as time permits, a question and answer period.
