Southeast Watershed Alliance to meet February 17

Brentwood, NH – As New Hampshire’s coastal water resources face increasing pressures associated with population growth and development, the Southeast Watershed Alliance (SWA) is emerging as a forum for solutions. The SWA, established by RSA 485-E in the 2009 legislative session, will meet for the second time on February 17.

This fledgling inter-municipal organization continues to gain membership. Communities join the SWA through a vote of the City Council or Board of Selectmen. So far the following cities and towns have become members: Barrington, Brentwood, Candia, Chester, Danville, Dover, Durham, Exeter, Farmington, Greenland, Hampton, Hampton Falls, Kingston, Lee, Madbury, New Castle, Newfields, Newington, North Hampton, Newmarket, North Hampton, Nottingham, Portsmouth, Rochester, Rollinsford, Sandown, Seabrook, Somersworth, Stratham. All 42 coastal watershed communities are eligible to join the SWA.

All are welcome to attend this meeting in observation status and learn more about the group. However, only member communities’ appointees will be able to participate.
