ARRA Project Tour
Underground Storage Tank Removal Project in Pittsfield
Federal Stimulus Money Provided Funding for the Project

You are invited to join Tom Burack, DES Commissioner and N.H. Executive Councilor John Shea on a tour of an Underground Storage Tank (UST) removal site in Pittsfield, N.H. The project was made possible through federal stimulus funding in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

What: Tour of UST removal project
When: Tuesday, October 20, 2009 1:00 p.m.
Where: 10 Concord Hill Road, Pittsfield, N.H.

The UST removal project is located at the former Tops Garage, a former auto repair garage, which is currently vacant and has been condemned by the Town of Pittsfield. The tank system has been out of service since 2005 and the tanks have never been properly closed. The site is adjacent to the Suncook River, which further raises concerns that contamination, if present could migrate rapidly to the river. Removal of the tanks will assist in the efforts to sell the property for redevelopment.

For more information, please contact Gary Lynn at DES, (603) 271-8873 or Jim Martin at DES, (603) 271-3710.
