NHDES and City of Keene Announce Kick-Off of City-wide Woodstove Replacement Campaign
You are cordially invited to join representatives of the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, the City of Keene, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Hearth Patio and Barbeque Association, and other interested stakeholders at a press conference to announce the beginning of a major air pollution prevention project at Railroad Square in Keene. Through this project, the State is directing funds, available through a regional environmental settlement, to the City for financial incentives to encourage local residents to upgrade their residential heating systems. This event marks the beginning of a 3-month campaign that encourages Keene homeowners who heat with wood to replace older non-EPA certified woodstoves with cleaner, more efficient certified woodstoves, pellet stoves, or gas appliances. The goal is to replace 100 woodstoves.
