Earth Hour 2009
Join the world in turning off your lights on Saturday, March 28 from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services urges New Hampshire citizens to take part in “Earth Hour 2009,” and make a statement about climate change by turning off your lights for one hour on Saturday, March 28 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

“Earth Hour” is an event that was created by the World Wildlife Fund in Sydney Australia in 2007 to reduce energy use and heighten awareness of everyone’s impact on climate change. Earth Hour has grown from an event in one city to a global movement. More than 1,000 cities in 80 different countries will take part in the event, including Concord, New Hampshire.

Everyone throughout North America and around the world is invited to turn off the lights for an hour starting at 8:30 p.m. (local time) – whether at home or at work, with friends and family or solo, in a big city or a small town. Just flip the switch!
