Three companies agree to pay fines for Air Pollution violations

Concord, NH - The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Commissioner Thomas S. Burack announced today the execution of Administrative Fine by Consent agreements with three companies: Torromeo Industries of Kingston; Pottery by Andy, Inc. of Dover; and Bacon Felt Company, Inc. of Rochester. The agreements resolve violations of the State’s Air Pollution Control Act that occurred at these facilities.

Under the terms of the agreements, each of the three companies has paid an administrative fine for failing to renew their air permits in a timely manner. The fines totaled $3,500.

"It is important that companies keep their air permits current," said DES Commissioner Burack. "Each air permit clearly states when the permit expires and when an application for renewal must be submitted so that the company can continue to operate while DES reviews the renewal application."

For information on the settlements with Torromeo Industries, Pottery by Andy, Inc., and Bacon Felt Company, Inc. or on New Hampshire’s Air Permitting Program, contact Pam Monroe, DES Compliance Bureau Administrator, at 271-0882.
