State geologic publications are listed by category, the latter arranged alphabetically by senior authorship in standard bibliographic format. Code numbers are used principally for ordering and logistical convenience. These numbers are also "Contribution" or "Accession" numbers. Contribution numbers are usually incorporated into formal bibliographic citations.

Publications dated prior to January, 1986 were released by the N.H. Department of Resources and Economic Development, or its precursor agencies; those since by the N.H. Department of Environmental Services. Relevant open-file reports released by the U.S. Geological Survey are cataloged herein.
