NH Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act Workshop

About the Event
This workshop addresses the changes to the NH Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act.  This is an opportunity to learn about the new permitting requirements, how to quantify the vegetation in the waterfront buffer, how to landscape for wildlife, how to control stormwater runoff from your property, and how to stabilize and restore shorelines. The session pertaining to the waterfront buffer will be outside on the lake waterfront with a demonstration on how to measure and map trees, along with a presentation from a Certified Arborist.  DES staff and engineering and environmental professionals from across the state will conduct the presentations. Several vendors including, manufacturers and retailers of pervious surfaces, non-profit organizations, and DES programs will have displays.

Who Should Attend
Shorefront property owners, developers, contractors, builders, landscapers, municipal officials, Realtors, and others interested in the new changes to the NH Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act that took effect on July 1, 2008.

Continuing Education Units: will be offered for attendance at the workshop.

Date: Monday, August 11, 2008
Time: 7:30 a.m. – 8:30am Check-in for the Workshop Sessions; breakfast.
8:30a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Workshop Sessions; Visit vendors.
1:00p.m – 2:00p.m Lunch (on your own); Visit Vendors.
2:00p.m. – 4:00p.m. Questions and Answers and Technical Assistance from DES staff; Visit vendors.

Registration
The cost to attend the workshop is $30 per person, and includes breakfast and workshop materials.  Make checks or money orders payable to “Treasurer, State of New Hampshire.”  Print and mail your registration form along with your check to:

You must pre-register for this workshop. Registration is limited to 150 participants, and walk-in registrations will not be accepted. Cash will not be accepted.

The last day to register is August 4, 2008.
