Adjusting the Horizontal Distance for Slope for 50 Foot Measurements Made from the Reference Line
If the measurement is taken with a measuring tape laid down on the ground, the measurement must be adjusted for the slope. Determine the slope for your property and add the following amounts to 50':

For example, if your property contains a slope of 20%, the primary structure measured with a tape on the ground must be 51' back from the reference line. For a property with a slope of 30% the building must be 52 Feet 2.5 inches back from the reference line.
