Shoreland Protection

Coastal Waters

The Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act applies to "all waters subject to the ebb and flow of the tide".   This includes the Great Bay and Little Bay estuaries, tidal rivers and streams, tidal marshes, and the Atlantic Ocean.

The reference line of coastal waters is the "highest observable tide line".
