Throughout the agency,
there are a variety of programs involving air, water, waste management,
and other areas that DES administers. Regulatory enforcement, permitting,
planning, public education, and technical and financial assistance are
some of the many activities that DES carries out on a daily basis. This
directory categorizes those activities by key topics and lists the appropriate
telephone contact numbers and e-mail addresses for each. The directory
also lists other related state agencies with environmental programs.
In recent years, DES has
faced many challenges associated with protecting
New Hampshire's special
environmental quality and natural heritage. While rising to these challenges
through implementing a host of initiatives, DES is also committed to constantly
providing outreach services to the citizens of our state. This directory
is intended to further honor that commitment.
