The Public Information and Permitting (PIP) Unit coordinates multi-disciplined permitting for DES and manages major, multi-media and interagency projects that affect the state. The PIP Unit also prepares and disseminates press releases, educational fact sheets, pamphlets, reports, newsletters, and audiovisual resources to keep stakeholders informed of the latest environmental trends and events. Finally, the PIP Unit operates the DES Public Information Center where file review services, publication sales, and a modern library are offered to patrons as a central repository for obtaining needed information and guidance.
