The Earth Systems Data Collaborative

The Earth Systems Data Collaborative is a joint effort between the University of New Hampshire and the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration focused on developing visualization and data integration tools to unite environmental data providers with information consumers within the Gulf of Maine region. Data portals include visualization of data in Google Earth, modeling ecosystem level productivity, and creating a fully queryable database with mapserver interface. Planning

• The Land Conservation Plan for New Hampshire's Coastal Watershed [pdf] (25 MB). This plan used a systematic, science-based approach to identify critical conservation areas and strategies at the very large scale of New Hampshire’s entire collection of coastal watersheds. The plan enables communities, land trusts, and agencies to better understand how local and regional conservation activities can add up to a functional network of conservation land and waters. The plan was developed through a partnership of the NHCP, New Hampshire Estuaries Project, The Nature Conservancy, Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, Rockingham Planning Commission, and Strafford Regional Planning Commission.
  
  
• Great Bay Estuary Restoration Compendium [pdf] (15 MB) The Compendium is a tool to help communities and organizations restore eelgrass, salt marsh, diadromous fish, and shellfish in the Great Bay Watershed. It was developed by The Nature Conservancy with funding from the NHCP and New Hampshire Estuaries Project.

These reports present biomonitoring results from the Coastal Volunteer Biological Assessment Program, where volunteers from local watershed groups collect information that contributes to water quality data in their watershed.
